Paws For Thought

Calling all pet owners
It is important to think about who would care for your pets in the event of your inability, illness or death, and to implement a plan to prevent your pets from ending up in a shelter where they could spend the rest of their lives.
Discuss with your family and friends the possibility of them taking over the care of your pets if you are unable to care for them anymore.
Carry a card in your purse or wallet alerting someone you have a pet at home and list of emergency contacts if something happens to you.
Make a pet file containing information about your pet/pets that would be valuable to a potential guardian/carer in your absence.
Include things like :
1. Habits
2. Food preferences
3.Medical conditions and medications taken
4.Veterinary information and records
5.Behaviour around other pets/people/children.
Advise somebody where this is kept.
Please ensure you have accounted in your will for provision and instruction.
They are your family, they will not do well either on the street or shelter environment.
Please make provision.
